The one-year bare root plant is initially a potted plant that has spent a “ripening” period in open ground. Its developed root system (20 to 35 cm) lets it easily withstand several weeks of cold storage (2-4 °C) and frost if planted in autumn.

It comes from vegetative propagation or in vitro propagation.

It is very likely to produce cones in the first year if sunlight, soil, watering and maintenance conditions are favourable.

Description

The variety

Magnat is a hop with high alpha acids and a clean, strong bitterness. Its aromas are rather European, “noble”, but its very high linalool content gives floral notes such as lilac.
Can be brewed for the following beers: pilsners, lager, IPA, American ale, bitter and dark ale

If you would like more details on this variety, you can find it on the ListeHoublon.fr website!

The bare root hops we sell are female plants.
They are used to produce hop flowers, used in brewing, herbal tea and decoration.

Advantages of bare root hops

They have the advantage of producing from the first year and reach 100% yield in the second year.
Good planting conditions, quality and soil depth, as well as regular watering, will allow your hops to develop optimally.
If you are looking for a more accessible form of hops, you can try potted hop plants
