Located in French Flanders, in Hazebrouck, the HOPSTOCK company is the driving force behind the relocation of hops in France thanks to the establishment of an ecosystem of actors and structuring and innovative projects: experimental hop farm and nursery of 2 ha, varietal selection project, events and training throughout France.
We have helped some 150 producers since 2017 to create their hop project on areas ranging from a few hundred square meters to more than 10 ha: Project study, layout of the structure, supply of poles, cables, seedlings, cultivation equipment, organization of the harvest, creation of the crop management plan, crop monitoring, marketing assistance.
Amateur hop growers also contribute, thanks to hopstock.fr, to relocate hops to gardens, balconies, public and associative green spaces, in all departments of metropolitan France and overseas.
Harvest notes
The 2026 harvest at the Houblon de la Motte organic farm ended on 3 October. After drought and heatwaves since May, the late-August rains brought the plants back into flower, and the harvest turned out well.
Nine varieties were harvested and certified, from Triumph, in its first trial year, to Cascade, our main variety. Several varieties achieved their best yield per plant since 2018: close to 0.8 kg of dried cones per plant for Bullion, close to 0.7 kg for Brewer’s Gold and over 0.5 kg for Santiam.
Every lot was analysed in the laboratory: Chinook (8.6% alpha acids) and our first Cascade lot (6.5%) are in line with the previous three years.
